Key things to know:
The “base wage for tipped employees” (or simply “base wage”) is the minimum wage per hour that a tipped worker must receive in their paycheck, if their employer takes the tip offset.
The base wage is the minimum wage minus the tip offset.
On April 2, 2026, City Council decided they would not consider lowering the base wage compared to 2026, even if they decide to increase the tip offset.
The city’s minimum wage will increase by 8% in 2027. After that, minimum wage will increase by the rate of inflation during the previous year.
